Navigation Guide

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport lies about fifty kilometres west, around forty five minutes by car via the motorway. By train, travellers can ride from Ventimiglia to Nice Ville and continue by tram or bus to the airport. The route along the coast is scenic.

Ventimiglia station, about three hundred metres away, is a border hub where Italian Trenitalia trains meet French TER trains. Italian trains run east to Sanremo, Genoa and Milan, while French trains run west to Menton, Monaco, Nice and Cannes. Tickets for each network must be bought separately.

By car, the A10 motorway connects Ventimiglia with Genoa and the French A8 toward Nice. Tolls apply in both countries. The coastal road is slower but beautiful.

Local buses connect Ventimiglia with Bordighera, Sanremo, Dolceacqua and the Hanbury Gardens. Schedules are limited on Sundays.

Border checks can occur on trains and roads between Italy and France. Carrying a passport or identity card is essential.

Taxis are available at the station but should be booked in advance for late arrivals.

Day trips to Monaco, Menton and Sanremo are easy by train and take between ten and thirty minutes.
